Pop quiz: What show features discussions about the great Motown artist Barrett strong, founding member of The Eagles Randy Meisner, Tony Bennett, Pee-wee Herman, the director of The Exorcist and The French Connection, a rock musical parody of The Exorcist, Dean’s final (?) “X-Files” improv (at a forthcoming “X-Files” convention), and the classic comedy films of Jacques Tati? Answer: This week’s brand new Season 3 Episode 81 of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour!

Dean is on a crazy road trip from Detroit, one that has led him to Des Moines and Denver. What city beginning with “De” will be his next stop? You will find out! The show opens with a tale of bad behavior by one of the biggest stars currently living in the Hollywood Hills. The latest on the Rust on-set shooting tragedy, and ensuing legal chaos, gets covered. A holocaust survivor-turned-sitcom star, the composer of one of the most iconic themes in cinema history, and an Oscar-nominated filmmaker all get remembered in “Celebrity Deaths”. A whole mess of 2022 movies get reviewed, including leading “Best Picture” hopeful Women Talking, as well as The Woman King, Where the Crawdads Sing, and The Outfit. An overlooked noir-ish classic from Carol Reed gets reappraised, as does a Nazi gold caper film from the 1970s, and a truly bizarre satire about presidential assassination from the author of “The Manchurian Candidate” and “Prizzi’s Honor”.

Reunited and it feels so good … ” Your friends in podcasting convened on a rooftop in historic Los Feliz, overlooking the skyline of downtown Los Angeles to pre-record this week’s episode of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour. Pour yourself a pitcher of Lord Turlocks (the cocktail Dean and Phil have made up to honor the recent creation of the Chillpak Hollywood Drinking Game wherein listeners take a shot every time the town of Turlock gets mentioned), sit back and relax as Dean and Phil shoot the breeze about jury duty, air travel in the age of Covid-19, Monday Night Football, Las Vegas, Liberace, “Fargo” season 4, “Schitt’s Creek”, “Crashing”, the Emmy Awards, deconstructionism, ageism in Hollywood, a lawsuit against IMDB, and more. They wrap things up by discussing several of Dean’s favorite filmmakers of all time.

Another big week here at YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour we welcome our first guest of 2020! Phil interviews the wonderful Annette Andre, a natural born performer who worked as a dancer, singer, and actress in radio, theatre, television and film in Australia, Europe, the UK and Hollywood. She performed opposite the likes of Peter Graves, Bob Hope, Benny Hill, Michael Crawford, Buster Keaton, Roger Moore and Richard Harris. She witnessed Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s romance firsthand on the set of Cleopatra. She stood toe to toe with the mercurial Patrick McGoohan on “The Prisoner”. She picknicked with Sammy Davis, Jr. She became not only a fixture on British Television, appearing on such shows as “The Saint” and “The Avengers” and her own “Randall and Hopkirk Deceased”, but was immortalized in photographs as one of the “Birds of Britain” during the height of the swinging 60’s! She is also the author of the spellbinding memoir Where Have I Been All My Life? The bad news is that the heater in the historic Ranger House where Phil interviewed Annette makes a lot of noise during the show! The good news (at least for listeners here in the USA) is a very special offer described during the show (click on Annette’s book title in this episode description to take advantage of the offer)!
