Your friends in podcasting celebrate the life of the woman who broke the news about the start of World War II and the life of a man who redefined literary and cinematic terror (and turned a certain staircase in Georgetown into a major tourist attraction). Then, after sharing some thoughts about a childhood friend who died this past week, Phil follows up on last week’s show by sharing with Dean some thoughts about “Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds” and sharing a story about how George Michael (and Wham!) helped inspire one of the most famous songs by The Smiths. There will also be much discussion of television, from the return of “Sherlock” and the news surrounding “The Man in the High Castle” to the Producers Guild Award nominations and a forthcoming show set backstage at “The Tonight Show” in the 1970′s. Finally, Phil gets on his soapbox as he and Dean address the controversy surrounding Meryl Streep’s speech at the Golden Globes and the overwhelming accolades being bestowed upon La La Land. All that, plus a frank discussion about “perceived vegetative states” AND a ton of laughs on YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour!

There will be discussions of television, like “Man in the High Castle” and the cancellation of “The Grinder” as well as news about a new Phillip K. Dick series AND a series based on the movie “Buckaroo Banzai” There will be a discussion of several movies, including a new espionage thriller based on a John Le Carre novel, a current Cannes Jury Prize winner, the recent “Alice Through the Looking Glass” disaster, and the completely overlooked western from earlier this year, “Jane Got a Gun”. All that, plus the show kicks off with your friends in podcasting revealing their favorite toys from growing up!.

Forgive us for another delay, but your friend in podcasting, Dean Haglund is working CRAAZY hours shooting his hosting segments for “The X-Files” forthcoming syndication run on YouToo, a brand new cable network. Dean describes more of what he’s been shooting, and what kind of interactive technologies this network plans on utilizing on-air. And since talk of “The X-Files” is in the air, it’s only fitting that Dean and Phil discuss the brand new show Frank Spotnitz has sold to Cinemax and that show’s origins. What will be of particular interest to X-philes is the discussion Dean and Frank had in London about the possibility of an X-Files 3 and the real reason it hasn’t happened already (and no, Fox is NOT to blame).
