Plus, the show concludes with a discussion about an event in which Dean and Phil are honored to be participating. To learn more about that event, please watch:

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #288

Today’s show is one of those special episodes where your friends in podcasting get on a roll and throw out the structure in favor of an organic, enlivening exchange that still manages to touch on such topics as The PEACE Fund (Protecting, Educating and Aiding Children Everywhere), the “Looper effect”, General David Petraeus and sex scandals, the most unfortunate entertainment headline in recent memory, news from HBO’S “The Newsroom”, the Daniel Craig “Bond” films, and the Sean Connery “Bond” films.

There is an “Explanation of the Week” involving Mitt Romney and there is a lengthy debate over 007′s latest big-screen adventure.

The theme of this week’s show? If you don’t stand for something, you’re likely to Skyfall for anything!

This week on YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #286

Cataclysmic storms, divisive Presidential elections, erstwhile Italian Prime Ministers sentenced to prison, Disney making more Star Wars films, unnecessarily Americanized/Anglicized versions of compelling stories, the end of the Mayan Calendar, Dean Haglund action figures and a “Sherlock Holmes” television series that is more House than Holmes

On this week’s installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour, your friends in podcasting attempt to make sense of a world gone wild.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #284

Dean Haglund is in Fargo, North Dakota. Phil Leirness is on set somewhere, directing and producing 2nd unit on a feature film.

So, how are your friends in podcasting able to bring you this brand new installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour?

Why, through the magic of podcasting, of course!

If you love Star Trek … If you love Star Trek: The Next Generation … If you love James Bond … If you love Planet of the Apes … If you love science-fiction … If you love social media … If you love this trailer … If you love the space shuttle, scientific exploration, tiki bars, Jameson’s, Blade Runner, independent film …

OR, if you just love good conversation, you are going to love this week’s show, where Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness welcome special guest Robert Meyer Burnett.

Happy Monday, from YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #282

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #233

Happy Halloween, everybody!

From James Bond to Independence Day, from disaster films of the 70′s to a silent film that might win Best Picture this year, from a lawsuit over falsehoods in advertising to a lawsuit over screenplay theft, your friends in podcasting are definitely putting the “Hollywood” in YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour.

Of course, Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness are also putting the “YOUR” in YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour, answering emails, Facebook posts and even angry tweets from you (yes, YOU!), the listeners!

Oh, and heads up Chicago, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.! THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE is on its way to your cities THIS month!

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #173

It’s Labor Day here in the U.S. A national holiday, plus a bicycle trip through France for Dean and editorial deadlines for Phil, can only mean that it’s time for a pre-recorded “theme” show. Longtime listeners will remember Chillpak Hollywood Hour #13. The majority of listeners who have come to the show more recently and who have tried to catch up on all the past shows will know that Episode #13 was truly unlucky in that only the first six minutes or so of it still exist! So, after finishing a discussion about movie remakes, started last week and inspired by an email from a listener like you (yes, YOU!), your friends in podcasting finally make amends for that “missing” episode of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour, by spending most of this week’s show discussing the world of James Bond! Dean and Phil compare notes on their favorite 007 adventures, as well as comparing their tastes to those of the viewing public. Here’s hoping this special show all about Bond-age will leave you both shaken AND stirred!

About the show
Dean Haglund, the actor, improv comic and inventor (best known as “Langly,” one of the three computer-hacking geeks on “The X-Files” and their spin-off series “The Lone Gunmen”) engages in thought-provoking, insightful, and irreverent cultural conversation with his co-host and producing partner, independent filmmaker and certified violence prevention specialist Phil Leirness in the production offices of Rational Exuberance. Warning: Dean and Phil's usually hilarious and frequently inspiring discussions are habit-forming, so please, enjoy responsibly!
