Chillpak Hollywood Hour #595

This week’s episode was delayed by half a day because Dean Haglund is spending his final hours Down Under in a hotel, and because Phil hosted a live show in Los Angeles on Sunday night. On our final intercontinental connection, Dean and Phil discuss the last entries in Dean’s Down Under Bucket List and Phil’s love for the great western star Leo Carrillo. In “Live Events of the Week” the Los Angeles Philharmonic at 100, Herbie Hancock, Katy Perry, Kali Uchis, John Williams and more get discussed. In “Lawsuit of the Week” 102 year-old Olivia De Havilland’s forthcoming appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court gets previewed. And speaking of the Supreme Court … Your friends in podcasting offer up some words they hope might be healing. Then, they turn their attention to the small screen to discuss “Stranger Things” and “The Man in the High Castle” before discussing such big screen releases as American Animals, Venom and A Star is Born. Finally, a legendary animator, and several key figures in the history of modern music are remembered in “Celebrity Deaths”. So, sit back, relax and enjoy that Didgeridoo intro one final time …

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #457

This week’s show starts with “Celebrity Deaths” as a Supreme Court Justice and a legendary explorer of both inner and outer space are remembered. Then, the return of The Lone Gunmen in episode 5 of The X-Files revival is previewed. And then, it is safe to assume that more independent films are discussed than on any prior episode of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour! A special guest joins your friends in podcasting to file a report on the recent happenings at the Sundance Film Festival and Dean and Phil go through all the Film Independent Spirit Awards nominees and Phil completes his ballot for these indie film “Oscars” on the air.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #363

Next week is the 7th Anniversary of the free weekly podcast that has been changing the way people listen to the internet since May of 2007.

Please help your friends in podcasting prepare their anniversary show by writing to them with your favorite Chillpak Hollywood memories.

Also, if you’re going to be in the Los Angeles area and are interested in discount tickets to Sci-Fest (where you can see Dean on-stage in Ray Bradbury’s “Kaleidoscope”), please write and let us know.

Finally, please help Dean Haglund and Phil Leirness complete their new film by visiting The Lady Killers, watching the official trailer, reading about the film, making a donation (if possible) and spreading the word!

Now enjoy this week’s installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour …

About the show
Dean Haglund, the actor, improv comic and inventor (best known as “Langly,” one of the three computer-hacking geeks on “The X-Files” and their spin-off series “The Lone Gunmen”) engages in thought-provoking, insightful, and irreverent cultural conversation with his co-host and producing partner, independent filmmaker and certified violence prevention specialist Phil Leirness in the production offices of Rational Exuberance. Warning: Dean and Phil's usually hilarious and frequently inspiring discussions are habit-forming, so please, enjoy responsibly!
