Chillpak Hollywood Hour #563

In an absolutely hilarious installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour, Dean shares his challenging recovery from knee surgery and addresses a rumor. Phil describes appearing on stage with his cat Fuzz Aldrin at a screening of The Lady Killers, shares the importance of the venue to his development as a filmmaker, reveals that the film has secured full North American distribution, and oh, yeah, how he got engaged to his long-time lady love, Lily Holleman, during the post-screening Q&A. Dean and Phil compare notes on “Star Trek: The Animated Series”, the future of “The X-Files” (including a potential spin-off series), and such movies as It, Winchester, Criminal and Black Panther. All that, plus a couple more “Celebrity Deaths” discussed in their brand new game show format where Phil gives the name, and Dean has to guess for what that individual was celebrated. Enjoy it now, wherever good podcasts can be found and share it with your friends!

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #559

Dean is having surgery this week and Phil’s cat, Fuzz Aldrin, continues her brave recovery. Because some of you asked for updates on these matters, your friends in podcasting begin this week’s epic installment with fascinating and inspiring stories pertaining to them. Then, it’s all about movies …

The critics groups have all awarded their favorites. The professional guilds and unions have honored theirs. The Academy Award nominations were announced, which your Dean and Phil analyze a bit on the show. For the most part, however, this week it’s Dean and Phil’s turn. Keep those Netflix queues handy as the gents count down their Top Ten Films of 2017. And, of course, far more than 20 films will get discussed in what is an extra-long installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour, one that truly stretches the definition of “hour”! Trust us, they go off the beaten path for their choices this year in an effort to champion some films that were sadly overlooked or under-marketed. Discover cinematic gems and regale in hilarious, irreverent, and occasionally insightful bickering.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #554

A lit bit of a Holiday pastiche, the bulk of this week’s episode was recorded on the meant streets of L.A. as Phil Leirness drove Dean Haglund from LAX to a certain “historic building in downtown Los Angeles.” How sick IS Phil? How did Dean spend his 19 hours in transit? What are their holiday plans? Find out … Plus a lot of TV and movie talk from your friends in podcasting. Happy Holidays, everybody!

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #529

It’s been a while since your friends in podcasting dedicated a whole episode to discussing movies and TV …

Dean and Phil begin the festivities with an excellent email from a listener like you (yes, YOU) that follows up on last week’s discussion of both Adam West and Roger Moore. From there, they turn their attention to current television – Season 4 of “The Blacklist”, Season 6 of “Veep” – and Season 1 of “Twin Peaks”. Then, the final half of the show is dedicated to movies and movie distribution, with such current releases as Alien: Covenant, OKJA, Wonder Woman, The Beguiled and Baby Driver, and recent sci-fi films Passengers, Arrival and Dr. Strange getting discussed. What also gets analyzed (and ranted about) is the need for unique distribution methodologies for each film being released.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #517

You would think when recording more than a day late, your friends in podcasting might be in something of a hurry … Instead, they take this installment of YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour and turn it into a leisurely 70 minute conversation about the UK “The Office”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, the acting intensive Phil taught this past weekend, recent news about their film The Lady Killers, a recent feature film about improv comedy, the great Don Rickles, and an email from a listener like you (yes, YOU) all about last week’s “Top Ten Artists” episode. All that, plus Dean delves further into the political and moral commentary contained within the paintings of Manet, they discuss what they are reading (a book that might become a future film by Phil and Dean actually reading fiction!), and there is a whole lot of movie development news, featuring the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Christian Bale, Sylvester Stallone and Joss Whedon!

Sounds like a good show to us!

About the show
